Resource guarding primarily applies to furniture access and humans giving attention
Training & Behavior Management
We use ethical, science-based, positive reinforcement methods only.
We focus on meeting his needs to manage and avoid unwanted behaviors.
Takes daily medications to manage his anxiety, and accepts them eagerly in a wet food “meatball.”
Knows “Place,” “Stay,” “Sit,” and “Down,” especially when supported with hand gestures.
Will readily “Drop it” and “Leave it,” or otherwise trade items he should not have for higher-value items.
Potty trained. Uses dog door to access small backyard/potty area.
Fully crate-trained; sleeps in closed crate each night.
Wears a Martingale collar at all times when out of crate.
Not allowed on any furniture.

Unknown people, especially if they have poor “dog body language”
Unknown dogs of any size
People carrying large objects around him
Brooms, mops and vacuum cleaners
Thunderstorms, fireworks and being surprised
Ends of his ears being touched
Being handled or picked up (won’t allow it unless sedated, as in for vet visits)
Delivery people or anyone coming to the door
