Hi! I’m Pablo.

I’m a loving and playful pup with special needs. My parents are looking for a dog walker and pet sitter to be my new best friend in Dallas, Texas.

Are you my new bestie?

Pablo’s Story

We adopted Pablo in September 2020 after a neighbor rescued him from the streets of Oak Lawn, Dallas, where he’d been living for some time.

Pablo was about 5 months old, but he looked much younger due to malnourishment.

Over four years later, Pablo is healthy, happy, and living his best life.

His favorite things are playing fetch and tug of war, warming up by a cozy fire, morning zoomies, sniffaris, getting treats from his wobble toy, and annoying his big sister Maya.

Perhaps because of his difficult start in life, Pablo does have a few challenges.

He is anxious and fearful. His anxiety makes him reactive to new people and dogs, so introductions require a specific approach. He also exhibits some resource guarding in specific, predictable situations.

It can take some time for Pablo to warm up to you, but the wait is worth it. Once you’re part of Pablo’s pack, you’re loved fiercely — for life.

Pablo’s Pack

Pablo’s journey is also our journey.

Hi! We’re Joe and Meg. We met in Austin, Texas in 2010, where we quickly connected over our shared love of travel. We’ve explored at least 17 countries together since then.

We now live in Dallas, Texas in a townhome in the Oak Lawn neighborhood, with our dogs Pablo and Maya, and cats Frida and Javi.

He was not our first pet or even our first dog, but through Pablo and his excellent specialized care team, we are fortunate to have learned (and unlearned!) so much about animal behavior.

We’ve made countless changes to accommodate his needs, and we exclusively use positive reinforcement methods.

It hasn’t always been easy, but he’s worth it.

Where You Come In

We’re seeking an in-home pet sitter to build a relationship with Pablo, so you can care for our fur family while we’re away.

Our previous trainer and caregiver is amazing and will always be part of the pack, but is no longer available for regular walks or pet-sitting due to a recent change in family commitments.

We don’t travel as often as we used to, but travel is still very important to us as a couple. Right now, we can’t leave town together for any reason — not even to visit family — because there is nobody to watch our animals back home.

Our behavior care team agrees that Pablo will do best with in-home sitting with a trusted person who can maintain his routines — so boarding is not a viable option.

Whether Pablo’s potential new bestie is you or someone you know, we are grateful to you for reading this far and for helping us spread the word. Pablo thanks you, too!
